I’ve been self – employed for the past 18 years so I’m pretty certain about what I’m about to tell you.
It does not take the “normal”, everyday attitude you see in many folks around you to become what you want to be after deciding to take your future into your own hands. When I took that momentous decision to abandon the comfort zone of a “secure” professional teacher job and venture out into the uncertain, often hostile world of self – employment almost two decades ago, many were my naysayer – colleagues and friends who told me with unwavering confidence that I would soon realize my “mistake of a decision and come crawling back” to paid, public – sector employment.
